Joseph Black is the Co-Founder and CEO of UniTaskr, a platform he started in 2016 to address the challenges students face in finding flexible work and gaining experience.
After taking a gap year to train as a safari ranger, Joseph pursued a degree in animal behavior at Manchester Metropolitan University, where he encountered the student financial crisis.
Balancing his degree with running UniTaskr, Joseph decided to prioritize the business and has since witnessed over £12 million worth of jobs being offered on the platform to UK students.
Joseph's focus at UniTaskr includes Public Relations, Strategic Partnerships, Sales, and team building, emphasizing clear values and strong morale.
Under Joseph's leadership, UniTaskr has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the E&Y Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 and being selected to pitch at the Webit Festival in Bulgaria.
UniTaskr's workforce of 185,000 students provides services in various fields like business, writing, digital, photography, and design to businesses and households.
In 2019, Joseph launched UniTaskr SHOUT, an in-house student marketing agency that helps brands connect with Gen-Z through market research, nano-influencers, and content creation.
SHOUT has worked with renowned companies like Groupon, Xiaomi, Spotify, Voxi, and the NHS, offering effective ways to market to students authentically.
Joseph's educational background includes a first-class honors degree in Animal behavior from Manchester Metropolitan University and training as a safari ranger with a notable 98% score in Animal Behavior & Ethology.
Prior to UniTaskr, Joseph held positions such as Senior Sales Executive at MCP, Safari Ranger/Conservationist at Lalibela Game Reserve and Sibuya Game Reserve, and Branding/Social Media Consultant at Shambahala Fundacion.
