Jos Kunnen

Jos Kunnen is a Company Director, Start-Up Investor, and Business Mentor based in Wellington, with over 40 years of experience in technology, engineering, manufacturing, and service-based businesses. He has held leadership positions in multi-national enterprises and small to large New Zealand companies.

Since 2016, Jos has been the CEO and Managing Director of Times-7 Research Limited, a global leader in RAIN RFID antenna design and manufacturing. Under his leadership, Times-7 has seen significant growth in products, distribution, revenues, profitability, and has been recognized with various business awards.

In 2022, Jos Kunnen was elected as the Chair of the New Zealand RFID Pathfinder Group, promoting the adoption of UHF RFID in New Zealand. He is passionate about leveraging technology for data-driven strategic decision-making to enhance business performance.

Jos Kunnen is actively involved in supporting New Zealand's economic, environmental, and social development. He is a member of various organizations, including Angel HQ, where he supports angel investments. Jos has also mentored startup incubators, served as a Board Advisor, and volunteered to mentor skilled migrant job seekers.

Jos started his career in the oil exploration industry in South East Asia and has transitioned through technical and engineering roles in the IT sector, ultimately serving as CEO for leading firms in New Zealand. He holds an MBA in Strategic Planning from Massey University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
