Jorge Lopez is a distinguished education leader with a strong background in the public charter school system, recognized for his exceptional academic results and accolades.
As the founder of AMPS public charter school system, Jorge led the network to receive prestigious awards like the National Blue Ribbon School, Title I Academic Achievement Awards, Distinguished School Awards, and the California Charter Schools Association's Charter School of the Year and Legacy Award.
Jorge Lopez has made significant contributions to education as a former member of the California State Board of Education, a member of the state Advisory Commission on Charter Schools (ACCS), and the CA Department of Education Waiver Committee.
He also holds various fellowships, including the Aspen-Pahara Institute Fellow, AF Charter Accelerator Cohort fellow, and a NISL fellow (National Institute for Latino School Leaders) with UNIDOS US.

His past roles include Chief Executive Officer at Amethod Public Schools, Director at MAAP, Inc., Area Director at Migrant Education Program-Stockton Unified School District, and Principal at Dolores Huerta Learning Academy.
