Jordan Susselman

Jordan Susselman is the Owner and Founder of Hi. This is Barcelona, a tour company he established in 2006. Originally from San Diego, California, Susselman moved to Barcelona in 2000, initially intending to stay for just a few months. However, he fell in love with the city and its culture, leading him to build a life there over the past two decades.12

Background and Experience

Susselman's journey began with a strong interest in foreign languages and cultures, influenced by his mother, who was a language teacher and travel agent. He studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, during his time at UCLA, which deepened his connection to Spanish culture. After graduating in 2000, he worked as a public relations director for a Catalan touring company specializing in the architecture of Antoni Gaudí. This role ignited his passion for sharing Barcelona's rich history and culture with others.13

In 2003, Susselman started giving private tours as a freelance guide. His experiences led him to create Hi. This is Barcelona, aiming to offer unique and personalized tours that showcase the city beyond typical tourist attractions. Outside of work, Susselman enjoys exploring Barcelona's neighborhoods, trying new restaurants, attending cultural events such as film festivals and concerts, and traveling extensively across Europe and South America. He is also passionate about photography and writing.12
