Jonathan Trail

Jonathan Trail is a Principal Engineer at WSP, leading the Water Team in the Roads Aviation and Civil (RAC) group in Queensland.

With a strong background in civil engineering, Jonathan specializes in providing design services for cross drainage, longitudinal drainage, and water quality for road and rail projects.

He has extensive experience as a drainage lead on major transport projects and has successfully managed teams of drainage engineers.

Jonathan's expertise also includes water sensitive urban design, erosion and sediment control, and industrial water management, allowing him to work across various industry sectors like land development and industrial/mining sites.

He holds the Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control Association (CPESC) designation, showcasing his proficiency in design and site auditing.

As a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), Jonathan has been involved in projects from concept development to detailed design and construction support.

His educational background includes a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Science (Civil Engineering) from the University of Southern Queensland and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Environmental Engineering from Massey University.

Jonathan Trail's professional experience spans roles at WSP, where he served as an Associate Engineer and Senior Engineer, as well as positions at Aurecon and Glasson Potts Fowler Ltd.

With his diverse skill set and comprehensive engineering background, Jonathan Trail continues to make significant contributions to the field of civil engineering and water management.
