Jonathan Overly is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the energy industry, specializing in advanced vehicles & technologies, and alternative fuels research, analysis, and implementation.

He is the founder and leader of the East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition, which operates under the U.S. DOE Clean Cities Program, a role he has held since 2001.

Jonathan has played a pivotal role in assisting and leading numerous fleets to adopt alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies. His expertise also extends to securing grants and funding for fleet transitions.

His notable achievement includes securing a $3.6M 2020 DOE project named 'DRIVE Electric USA,' covering 14 states and 17 Clean Cities coalitions.

With a strong industry network built over two decades, Jonathan is passionate about driving a massive transition towards cleaner, more sustainable fuels in the transportation sector.

Jonathan Overly holds a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science & Mechanics from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

His professional background includes serving as the Executive Director and Coordinator at the East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition, being the former Publisher and Chief Editor at Fuels Fix Ezine, and working as a Research Associate III at the Institute for a Secure and Sustainable Environment.

Jonathan's expertise spans various alternative fuels such as electric, RNG, propane, biodiesel, ethanol, and CNG, reflecting his commitment to aiding fleets in transitioning to cleaner and more American-made fuels.
