Jonathan Mein

Jonathan Mein is a Ph.D. level nutritional biochemist with a diverse background in Commercial Sales, Product Management, Product Development, Regulatory, and R&D roles.

His specialties include Vegetable Seed, licensing and royalties, Commercial Sales, Product Development, Product Management, Carotenoid metabolism, analysis and biosynthesis, Nutrition and functional health benefit characterization, Analytical method development and validation, enzymatic characterization, drug and nutrient metabolism, Consumer R&D.

He pursued his education at Tufts University, obtaining an M.S. in Nutritional Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition. Additionally, he studied BS in Human Nutrition, German at Kansas State University and NA in Deutsche Literatur - Übersetzungen at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitât Mânchen.

Jonathan has held various roles in renowned organizations like Bayer Crop Science and Monsanto Company, where he served as Southeast U.S. Commercial Lead (Vegetables Division), North America Regional Product Manager (Peppers and Eggplant), Americas Technology Development Trait Lead, Discovery Scientist (Consumer R&D), and Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Nutrition (Vegetable R&D). Moreover, he worked as a Scientist I at Apredica and gained experience as a Scientific Intern. During his academic journey, he was a PhD Candidate and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Kansas State University.
