Jonathan Lane

Jonathan Lane is a seasoned strategist and project manager with extensive experience in building innovation-driven entrepreneurial ecosystems, elevating emerging technology sectors, and providing enabling economic infrastructure. Currently, he serves as the Assistant Vice President of Urban Technology & Innovation at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. In this role, he oversees the ideation, strategy, programming, and execution for Urbantech NYC - a significant project initiative with an over $10 million budget designed to grow and strengthen the urban tech and smart cities industry.

Jonathan Lane's experience spans across different sectors, including private, public, and non-profit. His work as an economic development advisor at the Peace Corps in grassroots international development, advisory strategy for impact finance nonprofit Root Capital in Cambridge, and investment due diligence and operations at venture capital firm Fifth Wall in LA are some of his accomplishments. He is passionate about driving innovation and technology, solving complex public and urban challenges, and creating new pathways to opportunities while embracing inclusive economic growth across the socioeconomic spectrum.

Jonathan Lane's education includes a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Sloan School of Management, and BBA from Southern Methodist University. He has also served as a councilmember of ULI NYC Technology & Innovation Council at the Urban Land Institute, a Forefront Fellow at Urban Design Forum, and an Industry Development Specialist at Peace Corps.
