Jonathan Halitsky is the Director of Operations at Backpack Buddies of Metro Atlanta, a nonprofit organization that provides weekend meals to food-insecure children in the metro Atlanta area.12 He joined the organization in April 2023, bringing with him a diverse background in marketing, advertising, and event management.3
Halitsky's career has been deeply influenced by his lifelong connection to food and drink. After taking a mid-career sabbatical, Halitsky returned to his culinary roots by launching JRB's BBQ, a personal BBQ chef and coaching service in Atlanta.2 His passion for food and its power to impact lives led him to join Backpack Buddies.
At Backpack Buddies, Halitsky applies his marketing and logistic experience to create positive volunteer experiences. He is excited about the tangible impact of the organization's mission and the opportunity to connect with service-oriented individuals.1
Outside of work, Halitsky enjoys playing tennis, building Legos with his 9-year-old daughter Hazel, traveling with his wife Rachel, and spending time with their puppy Griffin.2
