Jonathan Beilin

Jonathan Beilin is a multifaceted individual with a background in art, teaching, and technical advisory work focusing on new and emerging media.

Utilizing 3D and interactive technologies, virtual production, and projection mapping, Beilin explores diverse concepts like material histories, speculative futures, and the impact of systems on labor and agency.

His artistic works have been featured in renowned exhibitions globally, including prominent events like the Transmediale festival in Berlin and the Mutek festival in San Francisco.

In addition to his artistic endeavors, Beilin shares his expertise by teaching studio classes at Parsons School of Design, covering subjects such as motion capture, synthetic media, and game design.

His teaching approach blends a rich historical context with innovative tools, encouraging students to critically analyze technology's intersection with broader societal issues.

Beyond academia, Beilin serves as a technical director for immersive and interactive media projects, collaborating with artists and cultural institutions.

Noteworthy past projects include developing an XR experience for the Finnish National Opera & Ballet’s Opera Beyond festival and a VR experience for WITHIN.

Currently, Beilin is engaged in a creative partnership with New York-based artist Alison Nguyen on a project called ‘Andra8,’ incorporating motion capture, 3D modeling, and animation elements showcased in various international exhibitions and online performances.

His educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Design And Technology from Parsons School of Design - The New School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Ancient History/Classics from Dartmouth College.
