Jon Thorne, Viola at Badke Quartet
Jon Thorne is a British violist who is a member of the Badke Quartet and a professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London.136 He joined the Badke Quartet in 2009 and has performed with them at major venues throughout the UK and abroad.245
In addition to his work with the Badke Quartet, Thorne is also the violist in the Abbracci Piano Quartet.5 He is a strong believer in music education and has held the position of Solo Viola of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra.37
Thorne studied at the London College of Music and then continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Music.4 He has taught viola and chamber music at the Royal Academy of Music since 2009.13
