Jon Kurland

Jon Kurland is a prominent figure in the media and entertainment law sector, currently serving as the Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and Chief Entertainment Counsel at iHeartMedia, a position he has held since April 2023. In this role, he leads the Business Affairs team, focusing on strategic partnerships and legal affairs related to podcasts, music, and other media initiatives.12

Kurland's career includes significant experience in legal counsel roles, having previously worked at Amazon as Senior Corporate Counsel for Audible, where he specialized in podcasting and music licensing.12 He has also represented high-profile artists and filmmakers in private practice and was recognized in "The Hollywood Reporter’s" 35 Under 35 List in 2020.1

In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Kurland is a member of TechGC, an organization that connects technology general counsels to share insights and foster collaboration within the industry. He joined TechGC in May 2023.23 Kurland holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Law School and teaches Media Law at Columbia Journalism School.1
