Jon Hirschtick
Chief Evangelist at PTC
Jon Hirschtick is the Chief Evangelist at PTC, focusing on Onshape and other SaaS products. He was the former General Manager of Onshape Business at PTC and the Co-founder and former CEO of Onshape Inc., which was acquired by PTC in Nov 2019. Onshape is known for its cloud-native CAD and PDM system with a wide range of tools like rendering, collaboration, workflow, and analytics.
Before his time at Onshape, Jon founded SolidWorks in 1993 and served as its CEO, Group Executive, and Board Member until 2011. Under his leadership, SolidWorks grew to 2 million users and achieved over $500 million in revenue annually. SolidWorks was eventually acquired by Dassault Systemes in 1997 and has continued to thrive as a DS subsidiary.
Jon is deeply committed to helping product developers around the world enhance the quality of their products. His expertise lies in Mechanical Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Product Data Management (PDM), and 3D Printing.
Jon Hirschtick studied SB and SM in Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Throughout his career, he has held various roles in organizations such as Chief Evangelist, General Manager, Advisor, President, Board Member, Founder, CEO, Group Executive, Director of Engineering, Lab Manager, and even had affiliations with entities like MarkForged, Magic Leap, Inc., Vela Systems, Liquid Machines, Z Corporation, Revit Technology Corp, and the MIT Blackjack Team.
