I received the honor of being named a distinguished professor by the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation. Through these professorships, The Foundation seeks to support meaningful, original research programs conducted by scholars who are contributing significantly to our understanding of entrepreneurship.

HealthDecision creates online tools which are designed to engage the patient in decisions that directly affect health outcomes, facilitating “shared decision making.” The product also integrates into the medical record to facilitate decision making of healthcare professionals. Used for over 5 years at the University of Wisconsin, the HealthDecision tools are associated with statistically higher patient satisfaction scores.

I founded and raised over $1,000,000 in funding for a business clinic that advises student and faculty entrepreneurs on campus, and businesspeople in the Madison, WI region. Advice is provided by MBA and undergraduate students under the supervision of a skilled clinic director with a background in industry as a CFO.

I was the faculty director for the undergraduate certificate program in entrepreneurship, the graduate certificate program in entrepreneurship, and the graduate certificate program in Strategic Innovation: Organizations, Technology, and Society. I scaled these programs into some of the largest certificate programs at UW-Madison.

The Weinert Center for Entrepreneurship education center in the Wisconsin School of Business. In this role I lead the turnaround of a formerly troubled program by working closely with the business community and campus leaders and by integrating research closely with practice. For credit programs operated by the center grew over 4x under my directorship to 1,700 students annually, which does not include those reached by non-credit programming. I raised external funding from grant agencies and donors to support students, operations, and research.

Founded in Wisconsin, gener8tor is now a globally competitive top business accelerator that invests in entrepreneurs building great companies. Gener8tor supports the growth of selected startups through a network of experienced mentors, technologists, corporate partners, angel investors, and venture capitalists. Companies backed by Gener8tor have raised over $1 Billion in follow-on funding.
