Jon Down

Jon Down is a proficient innovator, entrepreneur, and an experienced professor at the University of Portland. He has been exceptionally successful in producing academic credit hours at the Pamplin School of Business since 2015. Down completed his Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of Washington, an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. His passion lies in exploring advanced Artificial Intelligence, ensuring it supports a safe and healthy future for humankind and founded Safe AI Society to address these concerns. In the past, he served as a visiting professor at the University of Washington, Director, and Professor at the Entrepreneurship Center, University of Portland, Director, and Professor at Oregon State University, and Manager at Precision Castparts. Jon Down is a strong advocate of innovation and creativity and enjoys connecting with like-minded individuals and organizations.
