As the Portfolio CMO, my focus was on Value Creation (Diagnostics and Execution) post M&A to drive scalable growth by executing well-defined playbooks, and assisting with the operational due diligence for potential new investments.
The role also included guiding the portfolio leaders in restructuring the teams for growth, hiring senior talent, achieving Excellence through Digital CoE, improving and benchmarking marketing maturity by leveraging assessment tools, best practice, templates. In addition I coached the portfolio teams on the Best Practice to reduce the funnel leakage, and adopt the E2E Lead-to-Revenue measurement framework for improved Board Reporting.

AVEVA is a global leader in the engineering information management software for the asset intensive industries. 

Led the marketing transformation that comprised of:
•	the team restructure (60 professionals in corporate and the field operations across the globe)
•	sourcing and optimising Martech & associated processes for a frictionless execution
•	CoE driven, diligent creation & delivery of targeted, multi-channel campaigns, measured by revenue targets and funnel performance
•	aligning sales and marketing through the revenue funnel with the lead handshakes gated by SLAs 
•	executing brand audit, product rationalisation, packaging & re-positioning
•	delivering SEO optimised website in 9 languages in less than 3 months. Organic traffic +15%, referral traffic +13%, web conversion +58%, bounce rates reduced to 39%.
•	creating customer-focussed Product Marketing function and,
•	implementing the Lead to Revenue measurement framework.

AVEVA

8over8 owned a perfect niche within the asset intensive sectors by helping major project stakeholders to improve the contract management discipline by reducing cost overruns, claims and project delays. 

During my relatively short tenure, prior the acquisition by AVEVA, I drove the business re-positioning to diversify from the challenging upstream oil & gas to other energy sectors including power, nuclear, mining, transport & infra-structure markets. 

I have also managed the marketing transformation from the product to customer led including the team re-structure, implementing integrated Salesforce CRM and HubSpot, defining the lead process and a funnel for a closer marketing and sales alignment. In addition, I instigated the formation of the Product Marketing function and the implementation of the multi-channel, Integrated Campaigns to drive new business, & cross-sell leveraging new connected Martech and data.

In collaboration with the sales leadership, a methodology was derived to quantify the value the ProCon solution delivered to its customers. While 85% of all large projects exceed budgets and schedules, 8over8 solution demonstrated on average $60M-$10M contract spend savings on a $2Bn Capex project.

Business Process Management software that disrupted the traditional BPM market by being first in the enterprise space to offer its Process Modeler via Freemium model, well before the term was actually coined by Chris Anderson.

As an Executive Team member, I undertook a visual and strategic brand audit that aligned messaging and value propositions with the target markets, specifically the subscriber community and the enterprise customers.

Leveraging the power of 2m subscribers, we delivered personalised digital communities by engaging with individual users on their journeys to become Bizagi advocates. That strong subscriber endorsement through the Peer to Peer networks strengthened the brand recognition and helped to build long-lasting relationships within the enterprise sector.

Bizagi

Lyceum-backed Access offers business management portfolio including ERP, finance, HR, payroll, warehousing, BI and professional service automation software. Access was then a £44m T/O UK business with 17% organic growth strengthened by selective acquisitions, 9 in 12 months. 

As a Board Director I was responsible for all the strategic and tactical marketing activities and aligning sales, marketing and product management for stronger vertical focus.

While organic growth was our key priority, we recognised that many of our customers would benefit from the complete business solution stack aligned with their industry needs. As the M&A executive team member I was actively engaged in the M&A process by sourcing, selecting and successfully integrating acquired companies and products to deliver the seamless solution framework. This was supplemented by vertically driven, integrated campaigns leveraging social and digital channels to improve the individual customer experience.

To offer more flexibility and choice to our customers, I created Go-to-Market plans and managed a successful launch of Access aCloud, a SaaS platform, which is a unified business suite of HR, Finance, BI and CRM solution in the cloud that integrates with Access on premise offerings and grew its footprint daily since the day of inception.

An investor and a board director of an ethanol startup that derived innovative methods of  turning straw and other non-food waste into ethanol and positioned as the 2nd generation bio-ethanol 'waste to energy' company. 
As a Funding Director, I created the new brand, website, business proposition, and helped to raise funds for the development of the pilot plant. The company was acquired by Ensus, part of Carlyle Private Equity, in May 2009.

Strategic marketing consulting focussing on 'Measured Marketing for Richer Returns'. 
The projects completed include: brand proposition, product positioning and packaging, marketing plans and integrated lead generation campaigns. 

I gained an extensive knowledge of the SaaS and PaaS markets by working with Basware (P2P software vendor) by researching key cloud platform leaders and laggards to create the framework for the differentiated proposition for the new platform launch; in addition I re-positioned their mid-market offering and created a new brand for the international launch.

I also worked with Venture Capital funds reviewing potential technology investments, conducting market research into Virtualisation, Cloud Computing and Storage Software markets among others, managing their brands and launching new investment funds.

CS Group, a UK software business, grew from £3m turnover in 2002 to an annualised turnover of £50m in 2006. This growth was organic and through selected and well managed acquisitions (17 deals over 5 years). CS Group was sold to a private equity house Hg Capital for £100m.

A member of the transformation team that grew the business from £3m to £50m turnover in 5 years. 
Secured over £1m of product development and marketing funds from IBM.
Responsible for a portfolio of 17 business solutions, each one focusing on a vertical niche and defined their overall marketing plans including product positioning/differentiation and a lead generation plans

I have reviewed potential investments' business plans, refined the market opportunity for each, validated the differentiation and customer satisfaction, prior undertaking the full due diligence.

I acted as the marketing adviser for the selected portfolio companies that needed help with their marketing plans to support the growth strategy. This is when I joined the board of Software for Sports which subsequently became Computer Software Group.
