Johnny Weiss

Johnny Weiss is an independent consultant based in Colorado, specializing in charitable solar projects, with a focus on solar energy education and training. He is currently involved in the Maasai Village Solar Radio Project in Tanzania, the Terrat Village Project in Tanzania, and initiatives in South Dakota.

With decades of experience in renewable energy, Johnny has developed, taught, and managed training programs in solar thermal and photovoltaics. He co-founded Solar Energy International (SEI) in 1991 and served as its executive director for over 20 years, contributing to training over 35,000 students.

His dedication to renewable energy has earned him prestigious awards, including the Mark C. Fitzgerald Memorial Award from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council and the Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association Lifetime Achievement Award.

Johnny's educational background includes studying at the University of Massachusetts Boston and Kalamazoo College.

Currently, Johnny is actively involved as the Principal at Johnny Weiss - Solar Consulting, building on his expertise and experience in the solar industry.
