Director of Interim Staffing, DLA Talent Solutions

John Wilmot was a prominent figure in 17th-century England, known as a poet, writer, and libertine. Born in 1647, he was the second Earl of Rochester and known for his wit and satire. Wilmot attended Oxford University but was later expelled for his scandalous behavior. He then began a career at the royal court as a favorite of King Charles II, where he continued to engage in debauchery and scandalous conduct. Despite his reputation, Wilmot's writings are highly regarded and influenced poets such as Alexander Pope and Lord Byron. He married Elizabeth Malet in 1667, and they had two children before his untimely death at the age of 33 due to syphilis.
