John Wensveen, Ph.D. is an expert in aviation, transportation, and innovation. He currently serves as the Chief Innovation Officer at Nova Southeastern University and Executive Director of the Alan B. Levan - NSU Broward Center of Innovation. Wensveen's leadership in entrepreneurship and technology helps support the growing innovation ecosystem in South Florida. Prior to this role, Wensveen held various academic and industry leadership positions including Vice Provost of Academic Schools at Miami Dade College, Professor and Head of the School of Aviation & Transportation Technology at Purdue University, and President of Airline Visions. Wensveen is also an External Instructor at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and a frequent contributor to the media.

Wensveen earned a Ph.D. and Master's degree in International Air Transport Management/Business from Cardiff University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography/Planning from the University of Victoria. He is also working towards a U.S. Coast Guard Masters Upgrade certification. In his free time, Wensveen enjoys boating, scuba diving, and RV trips.
