John Shin

John Shin is an experienced professional with a focus on finding high-quality investment opportunities in real estate, private equity, and technology. As Executive Director - Investments at LFG - Lowy Family Group, John is interested in expanding the organization's network for deal origination in Australia, US, and Europe. He has a keen interest in direct investment or co-investment in real estate debt, development opportunities, or value-add assets primarily focused on US gateway cities, London, gateway European cities, and Sydney & Melbourne.

With years of expertise in private equity, John is searching for private businesses that need partial liquidity (non-auction) that might prefer LFG to traditional private equity. He is interested in backable management and businesses with long-term tailwinds. His expertise extends to technology, where he is looking for growth-stage investments with a global addressable market and proven unit economics where they are looking to raise $50m+ in a Series B/C+ round.

John Shin studied at Hale School and completed his B. Comm at The University of Western Australia. Prior to his current position, he has held various leadership roles such as Chairman at LBNCo, Co-Founder at Loan Insights, Non-Executive Director at Devicedesk and Good360 Australia, Principal at Attalis Capital, Portfolio Manager at SQF, Consultant at M.H. Carnegie & Co., Head of European Corporate & Structured Finance at Babcock & Brown, and Chief Investment Officer at RF Capital (Roberts Family Office).
