John Sammarco

John Sammarco is a veteran leader and consultant with over 35 years of experience in the public and private sectors. He has lent his expertise to top-notch organizations like America Online, Accenture LLP, Bank of America, and the U.S. Department of Energy, among others. His specialties include budget formulation, IT demand management, strategic investment selections, technology selections, and risk assessments.

John is the founder of Definitive Business Solutions and has been providing world-class group decision-making solutions since 2003. In 2016, he pioneered the development of Definitive Pro® Business Analytics, a tool that helps organizations build consensus and make complex multi-criteria decisions. John has three U.S. patents in the field of group decision-making.

In the evenings, John serves as an adjunct professor at the Department of Decision, Operations and Information Technologies within the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is also the AVP of Strategy for the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Washington D.C. chapter, where he has been a certified project management professional since 2001.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Mathematics from Union College and a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Denver.
