John Murray is the Managing Director and founder of Crossing the Line Productions, an Emmy award-winning documentary production company based in Mayo, Ireland.14 He established the company in 1993 to document the first Irish Everest Expedition.1 Murray has directed over 30 films for leading international broadcasters and produced 70 other films with prominent Irish and international directors.5
Before founding Crossing the Line Productions, Murray graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Zoology and worked as a presenter and reporter for RTÉ, Ireland's national broadcaster, on various science, environmental, and health programs.5 He co-authored Lonely Planet's first Ireland Travel Survival Kit and made his first film in 1991 about the first Irish expedition to attempt an 8000-meter Himalayan peak.5
