Retired at Partners Private Equity
John Mueller is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in private equity, management consulting, and investment banking. He retired as the Managing Partner of Partners Private Equity LLC, where he focused on acquiring lower middle market businesses in various sectors like manufacturing, distribution, and business services. Prior to his role at PPE, he served as the CEO of CapitalWorks LLC, a private equity firm in Cleveland, Ohio. During his tenure at CapitalWorks, Mr. Mueller excelled in deal origination, transaction structuring, and portfolio management, contributing significantly to three successful funds over 12 years.
With a foundation in finance and economics, Mr. Mueller kick-started his career at Chemical Bank in New York, advancing to the position of Vice President within the Multinational and Investment Banking Divisions. Transitioning to Whitman Heffernan Rhein, an investment firm in New York, he continued to excel as Vice President. Mr. Mueller also founded and led Newmarket Partners, a management consulting company specializing in performance improvement, interim management, and financial restructuring. His educational journey includes a Master's degree in Economics from Kent State University, an MBA with a focus on Finance and Accounting from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, and a BA in English Literature from Kent State University.
