John McCloughan

John McCloughan is a passionate researcher with a focus on applied mathematics, fluid dynamics, and turbulence modeling. With a background in solar magnetohydrodynamics, he holds a Master of Science degree and has published two journal articles in Solar Physics. Dedicated to enhancing the understanding of science and mathematics across various communities, John has 22 years of experience in tertiary mathematics education, including coordination, lecturing, and tutoring at multiple prestigious institutions.

In March 2021, John completed a course on 'Data Science Fundamentals' at Swinburne University of Technology, acquiring key skills in Python programming, data analysis, visualization, and an introduction to NLP. His educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Biochemistry, a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics and Fluid Dynamics, a Master of Science (Research) in Mathematics and Solar Physics, and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematics.

Throughout his career, John has contributed as a Sessional Academic in Mathematics at Swinburne University of Technology, and held various roles at other esteemed institutions, such as Monash University, La Trobe University, and The University of Sydney, focusing on mathematics tutoring, lecturing, and coordinating Math Learning Centers.
