Throughout his career, John has demonstrated a keen interest in fintech, dating back to 1986 when he established Micropal's Irish operations, a company specializing in investment fund data reporting, later acquired by Standard and Poors.
With a background in Economics and Geography from Trinity College Dublin, John has held various leadership roles in organizations such as Rugby Capital Advisors, where he served as chairman, and Waystone, a global fund services group, where he is an advisor. He has also been actively engaged with startups like DDISPATCH, a logistics digitization company, and Y11, a multi-sports academy and rugby club roll-up vehicle.
A respected figure in the investment community, John has analyzed, invested in, seeded, and raised capital for numerous alternative investment managers, culminating in the successful growth of Montlake Capital, a liquid alternatives pioneer, which he steered to over $10 billion in assets before its sale in 2021 to become part of the Waystone group.
Aside from his professional endeavors, John Lowry has also served as the former chairman of the Old Wesley Rugby Club in Dublin, showcasing his commitment to both business and community engagement.
