John Carrigan

John Carrigan is the Investment Director at The Yield Lab Europe, a venture capital fund that focuses on supporting early-stage and growth-stage companies in the Agri-Food and AgTech sectors. He has been in this role since February 2021 and is involved in providing venture capital funding, which can reach up to €2 million per company, as well as managing an annual accelerator program that offers €100,000 in investment and tailored support for early-stage companies.13

Carrigan has a strong background in science and technology transfer, with over a decade of experience in life sciences and business. Prior to his current position, he served as an Expert Advisor to the European Innovation Council, where he participated in an investment committee that awards grants and equity funding to innovative companies across various sectors, including food and agriculture.12 He has also held roles at SOSV Venture Capital, Cellulac, and the University of Copenhagen, contributing to his extensive expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship in the biosciences and agritech fields.14
