Olive Toast creates software for iOS and macOS. We developed the successful applications Files Pro and QuickSearch available for iOS and iPadOS.

John has developed on a number of other iOS and macOS applications as consultant. Most recently he has been working on a well known FxPlug plugin and macOS app for Final Cut Pro.

Extensive experience of Apple technologies including Swift, Objective-C, Cocoa, UIKit, CoreImage, CoreData, AVFoundation and related technologies. John has used many other programming languages and platforms, including, but not limited to C, C++, Python, Javascript, HTML and CSS.

John has years of experience leading small teams, managing projects, designing software architecture, implementing UI components, video frame processing, code reviews & pull requests, git, github, bug tracking and unit testing.

Responsible for the design and development of scientific simulation software for the education market, running on Mac and Windows. Extensive experience of C++ development with the Qt toolkit. Worked as part of a number of small teams; team leader for the research and development of a wave-simulator in Crocodile Physics.

Responsible for the management and running of two research contracts sponsored by EPRI. Managed a programme of modifications to existing experimental equipment; performed a series of experiments investigating the effect of chemical impurities and static electricity on the heterogenous nucleation of droplets in wet steam turbine expansions.
