John Baumber

John Baumber is the Head of the International Centre for Educational Enhancement at the University of Bolton, focusing on school and system improvement through personalization, equity, and global initiatives.

He is actively involved with the Kunskapsskolan global family, providing support and coaching to school leaders worldwide in countries such as Sweden, India, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, and the USA.

Baumber is dedicated to inspiring and building capacity in over 30 UK schools through the SAIL partnership, promoting student agency in learning and fostering greater ownership and personalization in education.

Additionally, he supports Bajabulile Primary School in the Mamelodi Township, South Africa, outside of his professional commitments.

Baumber's educational background includes a PGCE in Education from the University of Leeds and a BSc in Mathematics and Geography from Coventry University.

With a wealth of experience in various educational leadership roles, he has held positions such as Director of Education at Kunskapsskolan UK, CEO and Education Director at Learning Schools Trust, Education Director at Kunskapsskolan KIAB AB, and more.

His previous roles also include Executive Principal at The Brook Learning Partnership, Head Teacher at Rivington and Blackrod High School, and Head Teacher at Prudhoe Community High School.
