John Aldecoa, also known as Jose Juan Aldecoa, was a prominent figure in the American Legion of Arizona. He served as the Chief Operating Officer and Adjutant for the organization, which had 50,000 members, from 1998 until his retirement in 2014.23 John Aldecoa was an Air Force veteran and was inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame in 2014.12 Sadly, he passed away on July 19, 2020.34 His contributions to veteran affairs and his leadership in the American Legion were well-recognized in Arizona.
