Johannes Brekke is a knowledgeable generalist with a social science background who is highly interested in urban planning, city branding, regional development, public management, communication, cultural and creative industries, and policy making.
His educational background includes a BA in Samfunnsgeografi from the University of Oslo, MSc in Regional and Urban Planning Studies from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), as well as studies in Development Studies, Micro credit, Community Development at Hald International Center, and Continuing Education in Sustainable Urban Development at Molde University College.
Johannes has also expanded his knowledge through a Visiting Student program in History, International Institutions, and Architectural History at the American University of Paris.
Professionally, he has held roles such as Rådgivar/Adviser in the Stab for strategi og styring at Møre og Romsdal fylkeskommune, as well as various advisory and senior advisory positions in regional and national government bodies like Oslo kommune, the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Norwegian Kommunalteknisk Forening.
