Joeran Beel

Joeran Beel is a seasoned professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in academia, research, and entrepreneurship. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, complemented by a Visiting Scholar program at the University of California, Berkeley. Joeran also pursued an MSc in Project Management from Lancaster University and a Diplom (equivalent to MSc) in Computer Science from Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg.

Throughout his career, Joeran has held various influential roles in prestigious organizations. He has served as an Assistant Professor in Intelligent Systems at Trinity College Dublin, a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Institute of Informatics, and a Product Manager at HolidayInsider AG (HRS Group). Additionally, he has contributed as an External Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Konstanz and as a Visiting Researcher at UC Berkeley, where he also co-founded and conducted research at SciPlore. His entrepreneurial ventures include being the Founder and CEO of Docear, as well as the Co-Founder of GSM-Schutzengel.

Joeran Beel's professional journey also includes roles such as an Advisor at SciPlore, a Researcher at VLBA-Lab, an Assistant to the Chairman of the WG8 (Intern) at ISO International Organization for Standardization, and a Researcher and Software Developer at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg.
