Joel Ogden is a US Army veteran and co-founder of Construct Studio, a San Francisco-based startup company that develops Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) experiences and software. With experience in both art and technology, Joel has studied NOCTI Certification at Ormsby Center, a High School Diploma at Orchard Park High School, a Masters of Entertainment Technology (MET) at Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Joel and his colleagues developed "Imago," a student VR project inspired by Joel's veteran experience in the Army. After forming a company, they created "The Price of Freedom," a bilingual (English and Mandarin) VR experience that places users in the highly controversial Project MK Ultra. The team is also working on Vera, a software solution that facilitates VR/AR environment building from simple templates which is gaining popularity. Joel's expertise in VR, AR, and software development are key reasons his company was selected to participate in HTC's Vive X VR accelerator program.
