    Joel Gfeller is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the plant-based food industry, specializing in product development and innovation.

    With a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science Agricultural Science from The University of British Columbia and a Diploma in Viticulture and Enology from Brock University, Joel has a strong educational background in food science and technology.

    Throughout his career, Joel has held key roles in prominent organizations such as Gathered Foods & Cultivated Food Labs where he currently serves as the Chief Innovation Officer, driving forward novel plant-based food solutions.

    Previously, he was the VP Innovation and Technology at Good Catch Foods, showcasing his expertise in leading innovation initiatives within the industry.

    Joel also founded DTE (Down to Earth) Consulting, a successful consulting firm that provided valuable insights and solutions to businesses in the plant-based food sector.

    His experiential journey includes working as a Product Development and Technology consultant at gardein™, as well as contributing as a Research and Creative Development Scientist at the same organization.

    Before that, he served as a Research Scientist at Yves Veggie Cuisine Inc., further expanding his repertoire of skills and knowledge in the field.

    Passionate about sustainable food production, Joel blends his hands-on experience from start-ups, research labs, and production environments to drive impactful change in the industry, from small-scale projects like his own garden to larger industrial endeavors.
