Joel Galmor

Joel Galmor is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in the industrial automation and oil & gas sectors, known for his expertise in modernizing control systems and implementing IIoT solutions.

With a strong foundation as an Instrumentation and Control System Engineer in the Norwegian oil and gas industry, Joel has transitioned into roles at Emerson Automation Solutions and ABB Norway, offering extensive experience in distributed control systems, field instrumentation, actuated valves, and project engineering.

During his tenure in Austin, Joel spent six years with the Modernization Group at Emerson, focusing on consulting with sales and customers to upgrade aging control systems using industry best practices and innovative technologies.

Currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Joel leads the Danish Systems Sales group within Emerson Nordics, working closely with customers to drive operational improvements, embrace the IIoT era, and ensure they stay ahead in the ever-evolving industrial landscape.

Joel's educational background includes studies in Electronics, Physics, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering from renowned institutions like Linköping University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and University of South Australia. He has also honed his communication and interpersonal skills through training at Dale Carnegie.

Outside of work, Joel is passionate about kiteboarding, golf, diving, snowboarding, and following sports teams like the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers.
