Joe Philip

Joe Philip is a dedicated professional with a strong interest in solar energy and energy access. With two decades of experience in the solar industry, he has made significant contributions across various sectors. Joe co-founded Energicity in 2015, a company that has become a prominent provider of solar minigrids in West Africa.

Joe holds a Master's degree in Solar Energy Engineering from the European Solar Engineering School at Dalarna University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. His educational background equips him with a solid foundation in both the technical and theoretical aspects of his field.

Throughout his career, Joe Philip has held key positions in reputable organizations. He served as the Principle Engineer at Independent Consultant and played a pivotal role as the Co-founder and VP of Engineering and Operations at Energicity. Prior to that, he was the Director of Advanced Solutions at SunEdison, showcasing his expertise in the industry.

Joe's professional journey includes notable roles such as Senior Engineering Manager in Energy Analytics, Development Engineering Manager, and Senior PV Systems Engineer at SunEdison. His diverse experience also extends to positions such as a Researcher at ST. ISTVAN'S UNIVERSITY in Budapest, Hungary, and a Mechanical Engineer at Energetics, Inc. These roles have enriched his skill set and provided him with a broad perspective on the solar energy landscape.
