Joe Mansueto

Joseph Daniel Mansueto, born on September 3, 1956, is an American billionaire entrepreneur best known as the founder and executive chairman of Morningstar, Inc., a leading provider of independent investment research. He established the company in 1984 with an initial investment of $80,000 from his savings and has played a pivotal role in its growth and international expansion.

Early Life and Education

Mansueto was born in Munster, Indiana, to an Italian immigrant family. He graduated from Munster High School and later earned both a bachelor's degree and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago.12

Career

Mansueto served as CEO of Morningstar from its inception until 1996 and again from 2000 to 2017. He transitioned to the role of executive chairman in January 2017. Under his leadership, Morningstar went public in May 2005 and expanded into various financial services.12 Additionally, he owns Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire FC and Swiss Super League club FC Lugano.1
