Full stack engineer for multiple websites under the SmarterTravel Media business unit.  Worked with React, TypeScript, and Java.  I also handled site reliability engineering tasks such as language, library, and service upgrades as well as optimizing builds and dev pipelines.

Tripadvisor

Principal Software Engineer, SmarterTravel Media Brands

Worked as an individual contributor on shared services and infrastructure projects for Tripadvisor.  Built prototypes and benchmarks for a new iteration of TripAdvisor's media service.  I worked in Java and Python.

Principal Software Engineer

I served as the lead developer for SmarterTravel Media's search engine marketing team.  Primarily, this meant building and maintaining tools and jobs so that search analysts could scale their operations to over 1 billion keywords.  I also managed a small dev team of up to one additional engineer and one intern.  I really enjoyed this role; especially the collaboration and fast feedback cycle with the search analysts and the constant scaling challenges.  I worked mostly in Java using Spring.

Technical Manager, SmarterTravel Media Brands

I worked as an engineer for tingo.com, a hotel booking website that automatically re-booked customer rooms if the price went down before their stay.  I wrote code in Java to power the site, analyzed hotel pricing data using R, and wrote Hadoop jobs needed for implementation.

Senior Software Engineer, SmarterTravel Media Brands

As the fourth full time engineer hired at HubSpot, I worked on a number of key applications. Highlights include:
- Built "PageGrader" to crawl customer websites and report on SEO opportunities
- On the "speed" team, cut response times by 50% or more by analyzing page load times and app performance
- On the bizops team, I wrote tools to facilitate customer success and faster onboarding
