Joe Haslam

Joe Haslam is a versatile professional with experience as a cofounder, professor, investor, board member, coach, and speaker. Born in Ireland, Joe has been residing in Spain for the past 20 years.
At IE Business School in Madrid, Joe serves as the Executive Director of the Owners Scaleup Program (OSP), a specialized two-week Exec Ed program for scaling startups. He teaches electives in MBA and MIM programs focusing on scaling startups and fundamental scaling concepts.
Besides his role at IE, Joe also teaches an elective at IE School of Global and Public Affairs, exploring Humanity's Grand Challenges in the face of exponential technologies.
Prior to his academic roles, Joe was involved in founding and chairing various ventures, including Hot Hotels, a leading last-minute mobile hotel booking app in Europe. He also co-founded Marrakech, an e-procurement company that raised significant venture capital.
Moreover, Joe provides private coaching to entrepreneurs aiming to scale their businesses and serves as a judge for Innovadores Menores de 35 editions in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico organized by the MIT Technology Review.
Joe's expertise and insights have garnered recognition, leading to interviews and features in reputable media outlets like Al Jazeera, The Irish Times, Wall Street Journal, and Forbes. He occasionally contributes opinion articles to The Irish Times and The Sunday Business Post.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Joe has a rich educational background, including an International MBA from IE Business School and a M.Sc in Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems from University College Cork. Joe has also engaged with various organizations in advisory, mentoring, and board capacities across different regions.
In a personal capacity, Joe enjoys outdoor activities like playing inter-county hurling and has climbed several summits. He is a family man with two daughters and resides with his wife in Madrid, with strong ties to Galicia.
