Joseph Burns

Joe Burns is a seasoned biomedical engineer, researcher, and neuroscientist who is passionate about helping people suffering from hearing and balance problems. He has an impressive academic background with a Bachelor's and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the prestigious University of Virginia. Joe also studied the Analytical, Quantitative, and Light Microscopy Course at the Marine Biological Laboratory, where he gained crucial insights into light microscopy equipment and techniques.

After completing his doctoral studies, he joined the National Institutes of Health as an IRTA Postdoctoral Fellow, where he honed his research skills and contributed to several research projects. Joe then moved on to become a Research Fellow at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, where he gained experience in regenerative medicine research.

Joe's extensive expertise and experience led him to join Decibel Therapeutics, where he rose through the ranks from a Senior Scientist to the Vice President, Discovery. At Decibel Therapeutics, Joe was in charge of leading the Biology department and developing therapies for those suffering from hearing and balance problems.
