Joanne Throwe
President at Throwe Environmental
Joanne Throwe is a prominent figure in the environmental sector, currently serving as the President of Throwe Environmental, LLC and as a Senior Fellow at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. With a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland, Joanne has an extensive background in environmental finance and policy. She chairs the U.S. EPA's Environmental Financial Advisory Board, offering innovative financing recommendations to the EPA Administrator. Joanne also co-chaired the US EPA Stormwater Task Force for America's Water Infrastructure Act and previously held the position of Deputy Secretary at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
Before her leadership roles, Joanne spent a decade as the Director at the University of Maryland Environmental Finance Center. Her experience extends to the USDA, where she worked for several years, and includes serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Solomon Islands. Additionally, Joanne participated in the inaugural Maryland Leadership Program focused on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Based in Annapolis, Maryland, and Bristol, Rhode Island, Joanne brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the environmental field.
