Joanne Garrard

Joanne Garrard is a Design and Permitting Manager at Total Solar, specializing in Solar PV system technical design and approvals.

Certified by DEWA as a Senior Solar PV Expert, Joanne was the lead engineer for the First Grid Connected Solar PV installation in Dubai under DEWA's Shams first initiative.

Joanne has extensive experience as a lead Engineer for multiple Solar PV installations in Trakhees and Tecom areas and has developed strong relationships with DEWA officials.

Joanne holds an MSc in High Voltage Engineering from the University of KwaZulu Natal and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Prior to her current role at Total Solar, Joanne held positions including Engineering Manager (Solar PV and Electrical) at QTM Energy Engineering, Project and Design Engineer at QTM Energy Engineering, and Electricity delivery network optimization engineer at Eskom.

Joanne also has experience as a Trainee Project Engineer at 4em consulting and as a French Student at Alliance Francaise - French Alliance.
