Joana Sampainho

Joana Sampainho is an accomplished professional with a strong academic background in Economics. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, U. of London, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics from Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, and has also studied ERASMUS Economics at the University of Barcelona. With a wealth of educational training, Joana has honed her skills and knowledge in the field of Economics.

Joana has garnered valuable work experience in various prestigious organizations. Currently, she serves as an Operations Analyst in Disaster Risk Management at the World Bank Group, where she plays a crucial role in analyzing and managing risks associated with disasters. Her previous roles include working as an Economist at the Ministry of Agriculture, CEPAGRI, Department of Agri-business, as an Assistant Economist at DEFRA in the Agri-Environment and Farming Performance Team, and as a Research Assistant at OxAID. Additionally, Joana has gained experience through an internship at Inov-Contacto at Ensul-Meci.
