Joan Webley

Joan Webley is an artist, activist, and intellectual property (I.P.) attorney specializing in creating content and providing consulting services to assist individuals, businesses, and governments in monetizing their cultural and creative endeavors.

She holds a Certificate of Legal Education and is admitted to the Jamaican Bar, with a background in Law from Norman Manley Law School. Additionally, she pursued studies in Business (Music Industry) and Law at Victoria University Law School, as well as completed Ontario Academic Scholar studies at Havergal College.

Throughout her career, Joan has held various key roles, including Founder and Managing Director at Nanook Enterprises Ltd., President at Itopia Life, and Manager of Copyright & Related Rights at the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office. She also served as Director of Constitution, Advocacy, Lobbying & Membership at JARIA (Jamaica Reggae Industry Association) and as a Board Director at the Creative Production & Training Centre.

Joan Webley's professional background includes working as an Entertainment Lawyer at Marshalls & Dent, as a Junior Music Publicist at Karen Conrad Publicity, and as an Intern at the North Melbourne Legal Centre. She excels in IP asset auditing, development, and protection, simplifying intricate concepts, and driving transformational change by understanding the 'why' and implementing the 'how.'
