Jingwen Xu is an accomplished social worker and an experienced program manager with a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University in the City of New York. Her career has focused on community care management and mentoring programs for children and youth. She began her professional journey as a Teaching Secretary at Jiangnan University, where she built a solid foundation in pedagogy and community involvement in educational settings. Jingwen later moved to the United States and joined the team at Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC. There, she honed her program management and mentoring skills, working as Associate Program Manager, Program Manager, and finally Senior Program Manager.
At Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC, Jingwen specialized in developing and managing mentoring programs that fostered positive relationships between Bigs (mentors) and Littles (youth mentees). She also oversaw recruitment and retention efforts, training and supervision of program staff, and budget and grant management. Jingwen was instrumental in launching new mentoring initiatives that targeted specific populations, such as LGBTQ+ youth and children experiencing homelessness.
In her most recent role as Case Manager at Asian Community Care Management (ACCM), Jingwen leveraged her in-depth knowledge of community resources and social services to support seniors and people with disabilities. She worked closely with clients to assess their needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services that promote their independence and well-being.
