Jin Choi is the Director of Scholarship Programs at 10,000 Degrees, a nonprofit organization focused on providing scholarships and support to students from low-income backgrounds. In his role, Jin oversees approximately $5 million in scholarships annually and manages the vetting of over 3,000 applications each year. He is also responsible for processing scholarship awards, notifying students of their awards, and disbursing various scholarships.12
Before joining 10,000 Degrees, Jin Choi served as the Associate Director of Financial Aid at Dominican University of California. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's degree in Counseling from California State University, East Bay.1 Jin has been with 10,000 Degrees since 2011, initially starting as the Scholarship Manager before becoming the Director in 2014.3 Additionally, he serves on the advisory board for the Asian Scholarship Fund.1
