Senior Engineering Manager

Led an engineering team from my previous company through an acquisition with 100% retention at Uberflip.  Merged my team with another existing engineering team and now manage the largest engineering team at Uberflip.

I have since taken on the management of a second, separate, engineering team, after their manager left. Created a list of the top 5 challenges, along with ways I will address them, of managing two teams, including performance, ensuring career growth, managing my workload, creating and maintaining relationships with all team members, and ensuring that both teams get my attention.

Able to work with product to define specifications and requirements, build an architectural plan, with a software architect, or on my own, break down the work into into tasks and milestones, and design a project workflow that maximizes parallelization of work in order to deliver solutions on time and to spec.

I also place an emphasis on delegation, both to allow myself to focus on what's important, but also as a learning tool to help other team members gain experience at a higher level.

Engineering Manager

Engineering team lead, manager, and full stack web platform engineer currently utilizing React, node, and MongoDB hosted on AWS.

Architected, designed, developed, and maintained user-facing and backend applications and features for a SaaS marketing platform used for improved lead qualification and creation of interactive content.  Contribute to system architecture decisions and implementation while enforcing technical standards. Coordinate with product owners and managers to deliver product enhancements up to spec and on schedule. Support and provide leadership to other engineers.
* Currently lead the engineering team, including bi-weekly one on ones, reviews, and leading engineering meetings.
* Was involved in all aspects of creating multiple products from the ground up, including, but not limited to, scalability concerns, service architecture, database design, technology choices, and coding.
* Greenfielded containerized serverless microservices architecture to automatically decompose PDFs and re-package as online marketing content

Architected, designed, and built multiple products from the ground up:
* A user-generated content quiz creation platform that grew to hundreds of thousands of users, with profiles, tagging, messaging, ranking, and sponsored content
* An internal revenue generating quiz system backed by an in house content management system, responsible for millions of dollars in revenue.
* An ad system for displaying targeted lead collection ads, collecting the leads. and delivering the leads to client spec over multiple transports (REST, JSON, https, email, download, etc).

Helped create and develop all the products in the company, including:
* A monetized, affiliate based, tell-a-friend system that sends recommendations to user's friends, and displayed targeted offers to the users during and after the tell-a-friend process.  Revenue activity was tracked and shared with our affiliates.
* Maintained a large email list subscription service Oracle; designed tools for sales to send mailings to subscribers
* Worked on an affiliate based signup system for the email system, including the creation of attractive signup forms, backend email collection, and revenue tracking for the affiliates.
