Jim Sampson

Jim Sampson is the Founder and CEO of Scion Helicopters, a company that specializes in manufacturing turbine composite helicopters.12 He has been in this role since January 2015, based in Loveland, Colorado.2 Sampson has extensive experience in the aviation industry, including:

1. Founder, CEO, and Test Pilot at Scion Aviation since 1993, focusing on advanced composite parts for aircraft and aerospace industries.2

2. Education in Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, completed in 1993.2

3. Holds licenses and certifications as an A&P mechanic for both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, as well as being a pilot.2

Sampson is currently leading the development of the SA-410 "Vixen" 2-Place Kit Helicopter at Scion Helicopters, with ground testing expected to begin in early Fall 2024 and first flight anticipated in late 2024.3
