Jim Colgan is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in producing live and recorded national, local, and international programming.
Originally from Dublin, Jim moved to New York in 2000 where he started as a full-time staff reporter for an immigrant newspaper before transitioning to producing at The Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC, pioneering a unique approach to journalism on talk radio.
He later contributed to launching a national morning show on public radio, utilizing crowdsourcing techniques to enhance reporting, such as demonstrating the impact of city snow plows on poorer residents.
With a keen interest in technology, Jim ventured into reporting on tech companies and consulting for startups, eventually securing a role as the Head of Podcast Partnerships at SoundCloud.
His career path led him back to editorial roles, where he combined his technology and business acumen as an Executive Producer of original programming at Audible, focusing on building partnerships with creatives and overseeing content creation from concept to delivery.
In 2019, Jim was honored with a John S. Knight fellowship at Stanford University, where he delved into exploring the influence of live audio in an on-demand world, studying at various departments within the university.
