Jim Chow

Jim Chow is a Brigadier General in the Air National Guard, currently serving as the Special Assistant to the Director of the Air National Guard. In this role, he supports the Chief in various matters related to the Air National Guard. His military career began in 1984, and he has held several significant positions, including serving as the Air National Guard Assistant to the United States Air Force Surgeon General for Operations/Policy.

General Chow has an extensive medical background, having completed his medical education at the University of South Carolina and further specialized in dermatology and wound healing at prestigious institutions such as Vanderbilt University and Johns Hopkins. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his contributions to military medicine and humanitarian efforts, including organizing civil-military relief missions and establishing health readiness programs.

His educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctor of Medicine, along with various fellowships and leadership programs from institutions like Harvard University. He has received numerous awards for his service, including the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest civilian honor.1
