Jim Burgess, a highly experienced information security professional, has joined the Carter team as Senior Director. Burgess brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise in managing security services, risk management, and compliance to ensure the organization's protection against cyber threats. He holds an MBA from the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Burgess has also served as Director of Information Security and CISO at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, SE Region Delivery Manager at TEKsystems, Head of IT Business Services at Voya Investment Management, and Global IT Audit Senior Manager at InterContinental Hotels Group.

Working with Carter's leadership team, Burgess will focus on strategy, vendor partnerships, security frameworks, compliance, risk management, and international experience. He has a proven track record of P&L / budget responsibility, operating committee & executive reporting, CIO reporting, PCI-DSS (SAQ) compliance, policy development, audit & risk committee engagement, strategic planning, vendor negotiations, manager & mentor, and law-enforcement (FBI) relationships.
